No More Teachers...

...no more books...well, you know the rest! I can't believe that summer is here and I am done with my school year. It's kind of liberating and sad at the same time. I was really touched by how many kids hugged me and said that they would miss and all that. It made even cynical, skeptical, glass-half-empty me teary-eyed and loopy. There was so much that I wanted to do that I didn't get done; there was so much that I tried to do that just plain flopped (i.e., reader's theater version of the original version of Casey at the Bat with a group of second graders, I had a mutiny on my hands with that one).
But, hey, the school year is over, I can breathe for a while -- I just have to somehow face the ceiling-high piles of school papers and projects that arrived on the last few days of school. I really want to have some lofty goals this summer, but will be happy to garden and read.
What are your plans this summer?
